What is Kyphosis and What You Can Do About It

Picture of a woman with kyphosis, also known as hunchback

Share This:

What is Kyphosis (Kie-fo-sis)?

I decided to write about this topic because this is a condition that I do see often in the clinic. Whether it’s from bad posture or just degenerative changes in the bones, this over-arching can cause discomfort, and more noticeably can make an impact on our appearance.

Kyphosis is an abnormal curvature which affects primarily the cervical and thoracic spine. It is most common in the thoracic spine, though it can also affect the cervical and lumbar spine.1 Your spine has natural curves in the upper and middle part of your spine as well as lower. However, when the curvature of the spine begins to extensively round the upper back and become convexed, that is known as kyphosis.2 A common term is “hunchback”, or “roundback”.

What Causes Kyphosis?

Kyphosis, rounding of the spine, known as hunchback.
Kyphosis primarily occurs in the thoracic spine.

Well, posture can play a role, so listen up when a teacher tells you to sit up straight, no matter how old you are.

As you’re reading this are your shoulders rolled out awaiting the next life changing word or phrase? Well, Stop it!

Ok, posture is not the only cause. Congenital conditions can play a role (diseases and disorders that occur at birth). Scheuermann’s disease affects children and has no known cause.3 Other causes may include osteoporosis (loss bone mass), which is one of the leading causes of this condition in adults, with women being more common than men due to the loss of estrogen.4 Also, corticosteroids in high doses may play a role in weakening the bone in adults which can also be a major contributing factor.5 Arthritis, spinal deformities, and trauma can also play a role.

As mentioned earlier, scheuermann’s disease affects kids, boys more than girls, and causes the back of the vertebrae to growth more than the front, causing the spine to round forward.

Other signs in children include a difference in shoulder height, a difference in shoulder blade positions, or if the upper back looks higher than normal.6

Treatment options for Thoracic Curvature

Posutral kyphosis, man with hunchback
Treatments for Kyphosis include exercise.

With modern techniques such as X-ray imaging and MRI’s, and with the knowledge we know so far, it seems like there are some treatment options available for people suffering.

Braces are used in children, goal is to help the spine grow into correct alignment. Exercise is prescribed in posture induced cases.

For adults, a conservative treatment regimen is sought out first, with surgical intervention is only recommended when the benefits outweigh the risks.

Yoga, massage therapy, chiropractic care, and physical therapy can all be beneficial. Stretch, align, reduce the inflammation, massage the muscles, rinse and repeat.

What do YOU do when presented with this condition in the clinic?

In the clinic I use a combination of acupressure, cupping, and acupuncture to help treat for pain relief and to help promote healthy alignment of the spine. A case report of a 74 year old woman with kyphoscoliosis (which is rounding and deviation of the spine) underwent an acupuncture regimen. After 6 weeks of treatment, the patient’s lower backache decreased and follow-up radiographs showed that the Cobb angle (method is used to measure the degree of scoliosis7) decreased by 10 degrees.8 The patient still underwent corrective surgery for the condition, however this case report shows that acupuncture can be very beneficial to the overall improvement outcome even when surgical intervention is needed. Another study looked at intensive rehabilitation of pain due to sheuermann’s disease which included manual therapy and acupuncture, in which the study showed a pain reduction between 16 and 32%.9

As an Acupuncturist healthcare provider, I utilize a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Bio-medical science to help patients see improvements. This is the overall framework that a typical practitioner will use, and progress to diagnosis the condition based on the underlying symptoms of the patient. Can Chinese Medicine better help to understand the curvature in the spine? Yes it can. You see, any problem in the body that causes impairment/dysfunction of the meridians will cause pain and disorder, not only in the areas affected but also in other parts of the body. There are many articles to help you understand more about acupuncture and Chinese medicine theory. The more we can approach a treatment through various methods that are safe and helpful, the better for everyone.

I thought this video would be a good start to help your mind move in the right direction.

As always, remember to consult your primary healthcare provider before starting an exercise treatment regimen.

Lastly I am not the person in the video, enjoy 🙂

Politics: Progressive Views From An LA Dude

What is wrong with the world today? Why is there such a push against immigrants? All the people I compete with speak only english, or english and another language which makes it even more competitive. But the best person should get the job right? Go somewhere where your skills are needed or learn something new. If it’s not helping humanity become healthier, safer, or help us spend less on gas, then sorry you need to rethink your skill set.

Evolution speaks volumes. If a line work is diminishing for a new industry or technology, either learn the new skill and adapt or face extinction. In America you can educate yourself and elevate yourself. Easier said than done, I know. But people forget of something called a junior college that was created to help people in the community obtain college level courses. Yes there is money involved, and yes there is a time commitment to learning, but are you too busy to put in the time to improve your life?

I’ve noticed the country get in an uproar since the crash of 2008. Since the financial and economic sanity of this country took a hit it brought in a wave of hatred. Listen, when money is not coming in, the inner animal and fear comes out. Racial tolerance decreases, domestic violence increase, violent acts and robberies increase, and the rest goes on.

I believe in equality for everyone, doesn’t matter race, gender, or sexual preference. My woman bosses have been the best respected even higher than their male counter parts. Not a diss against us dudes, but you have to give credit where credit is due. If you experience fear or feel uncomfortable around people who are not like you, then the solution is simple. It’s not easy to accept everyone overnight, I know. But you can begin the process just be getting to know people. Then you will see that we are all humans with different experiences and different tolerances and that is A-OK.

The U.S. is not a one religion nation. It is a country with the choice given to every individual to choose their own religion and faith so long as it does not promote hate and violence. What’s my faith? Well, I follow more along the lines of the Daoist way of life but also integrate philosophies from confucious, aristoltle, and many past philosophers. New age philosophy of Wayne dyer, Louise Hay, even Helen Keller. You can learn so much in life from people who have blasted through adversity and reached success in whatever facet of life important to them. That’s what I’m all about. Hey, you’re part of an organized religion that’s been around for thousands of years, fantastic.  I respect your beliefs and wish you the best.

My Mid Year Rant 2017 – Health, Money, Motivation

Man giving advice on health, money

Share This:

My inspiration for writing this post, or in general? To help people find more clarity and focus when times are hectic, you know, as in 2017.

Why?

Because we are all overworking like chickens with our heads cut off…with bills due yesterday… and people suck… Right???? I’m always sick..and if only I could only…I’m waiting for someone to …. this is a system built to take, take, and take.

OKAY!

Modern society has really sucked us in. I just got tired. I got tired of trying to impress. I got tired of trying to live up to other’s expectations without living up to my own expectations first. I’m still learning how to cut the energy vampires out while still maintaining my values. In the age of fake news and aggressive stances in beliefs personal growth is probably one of the best things a person can do. It seems like the best what

So what am I focusing on?

Fruit for health and wellnessHealth. If you don’t have it then what do you have? Health and wellness also includes mental health! It’s not healthy to be angry all the time. Take care of the mind, take care of the body and see life change in 30 days, period.

In this current time period when someone thinks of aging, what kind of future do we imagine? Do you think of a miserable life of paying bills until your time is done? Or that you’ll be broken down by the time you’re ready to retire? Or do you envision a more pleasant ending, with you smiling and having the support of loved ones. Telling stories to the younger generation letting them know that life is difficult but that perseverance is wheat get’s you through. Can you see the difference in mindset?

Oh, and money.

Money advice
Does seeing this money create fear? Or give you hope?

People do what they need to do to achieve sustainable financial status. You need it to eat. It guides all that we do, we are judged by it, and it’s not going away anytime soon so learn how to make it, handle it, save it, and use it. If money is a priority in your life that it can be frustrating when it is not available, or in short supply. So we educate ourselves. Avoid future pitfalls, learn to save, and learn to change habits by any mean’s necessary. There is no need to “cheat” the system, to steal, or conspire. Yes there are many people who do cheat, but you have to let the universe handle them and build yourself. Like Jim Rohn said, you don’t lack money, you just lack of an idea on how to earn money. Trust me, I am still learning myself, but that is what makes it so fun!

I enjoy it when people talk about “their” generation isn’t to blame for the problems of today. The problem is when you’re not aware of your strengths and weakness. Millennials as a whole have qualities that are positive and not so positive, but were taught from the previous generation.  Blaming millennials for not having “what it takes” to handle problems of the world will not suffice. We all need improvement. Period.

DiversityFreedom to all. Let’s stop discrimination base on color, religion, sexual preference or orientation, nationality, and any kind of quality you can judge a person on. Acceptance is not easy, even that I am beginning to realize. But if you can at least learn to start empathizing with individuals different than you, then it will make life ten times easier, and make the process easier. I used to run with a macho attitude, and I’ve said and done some things in the past that I’m not proud of. Every day I’m learning how to treat the women in my life better, and respect for every woman. I’ve known gay and lesbian friends who are the greatest people you could know. What can I say? I just keep it chill and try to become a better person. You should too.

I haven’t been exercising like I should. I haven’t been prioritizing my health. Today I walk for 30 minutes. Then I’ll do some mid day kung fu… and some evening kung fu too…you can learn too. Yoga, tai chi, parkour? Yes, more.

Thank you for listening to my rant. Improve yourself and help improve the world.

Improve Range Of Motion, Decrease Pain.

Squirel stretching practicing range of motion

Share This:

Stiff muscles and joints are a part of life. Aging may play a factor, or an injury. For many, it’s just that stupid chair at work! In any case, I found a general rule of thumb very useful for many of the patients that I treat for pain (not only pain, but this is a good starting point) which is very useful and helps immensely in the treatment process. It’s a simple rule of thumb that I keep in mind, and it is “increase range of motion, decrease your pain.”

With an understanding that this does not apply to every patient, I have seen many people benefit from simply improving their range of motion, in particular the lower extremities.

skeleton arm jointWhat is Range of Motion you ask?

“The full movement potential of a joint, usually its range of flexion and extension. For example, a knee might lack 10 degrees of full extension due to an injury.1

Why is this important?

In an age of opioid epidemic and with very limited options on the pharmacological medicine, natural treatment options provide a great solution to helping individuals in the treatment of pain. You’d be surprise how many times very important clinical findings are missed, such as overly tensed muscles and restricted motions. So I’ve made it a point to use all the diagnostic tools at my disposal to get a better idea of the pathology (The cause or the origin of the disease).

Hey, how do you know this stuff? Do you do this like everyday?

Yes I do. I practice in the cities of Pasadena, Downey, and Burbank. Based in Los Angeles, California, but I call the world my home. Yes, I am looking forward to traveling more and helping more people where I can. I see anywhere from 5 to 14 patients a day,  dealing primarily with pain management in the worker’s compensation arena and private insurance sector. So I do have an opportunity to see and treat people first hand, and the goal is to always help patients move to the next step and improve their lives.

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective, it makes sense. TCM explains that we have energetic pathways called medians which travel superior to inferior and vice versa, meaning from top to bottom and from the bottom to the top. These meridians carry what we call “Qi” and “blood” to different areas of the body. Injury to these areas causes the pathway to work inefficiently and malfunction, causing pain, soreness, stiffness, or redness.

How do we approach this? By unblocking the channels and creating a better flow of energy, improving the circulation. Acupressure works very well and is why I focused my area of expertise on this therapy. But it is a conjunction of acupuncture, acupressure, herbs, stretching, heat, nutrition, and sleep…yes, sleep, that will work best.

This is not intended to be a medical diagnosis, so please see your healthcare provider and ask them about natural ways to help improve your movement for you health.

10 Things To Do Before The Political Uproar Gets You Down

USA Political Words

Share This:

I wanted to stay away from the issue of politics but it has been hard not to show some kind of concern for our political state.

Whether or not you’re a fan of the current administration, there are many issues up for debate and people on both sides of the coin. In America everyone has a right to a view point and the right to discuss like civilized individuals instead of shouting and fighting like brutes, I think 😐 …But you need to be in the right state of mind to discuss your viewpoint without losing poise. So here is a checklist for things that you can do before jumping into the political upheaval and running around in an uproar.

  1. Did you workout?
    Man working out playing basketball
Can you believe it? They called me crazy!

Easy question. Did I workout today? Yes. Picked up some 10 lbs dumb bells and lifted them over my head. Very light start just to get me ready for my lunch time workout. I’m back into my tai chi practice. Anger is energy and needs to be put to use in some way shape or form. The evidence between mood and exercise is mounting and evident so don’t just brush it under the rug. With healthcare on the fritz it seems like the more you can do to take care of yourself, the better.

  2. Did you save any money or pay off a bill today?
    Saving Money, One Dollar
Every dollar counts…except this one in the picture. It isn’t real.

Who doesn’t have money problems? The range of what we experience may be different, but one thing remains the same: If you ignore your finances eventually you’ll be in a situation where it’s the only thing on your mind. President Who??? It’s important to save for a rainy day. Because a rainy day could turn into a rainy week, or month, or even years. The Congressional Budget Office just release a report stating that the national debt is going to be 150% of the GDP, or Gross Domestic Product. What does that mean? Um.. not good, not good at all. Ultimately, as I’m becoming wiser I coming into the realization that I can take hold of my future financial security by planning ahead and learning from my past money mistakes. Have you ever read The Millionaire Next Door?

  3. I have Time.
    I Quiet.
    Ipod.
    I Meditate.

Relax, that is not a tree, you are the tree, said the wise one…

  4. Begin identifying Job skills that will be needed in 5 years from now, 10 years from now, 20 years. Where do you want to be 5, 10, 20 years from now?
Either adapt or get left behind with the smoke...
    I’m evolving by the minute…Muahahaha!

  5. Are you up to date on your blood work? Any lingering health concerns? You should have healthcare coverage, use it!

  6. Mathboard, arithmatics
Sharpen your skills and they will sharpen you! Chop Chop!

Enroll in a history class, a political science class, a math class! I’m going to enroll in community college to strengthen my mathematical base and biological sciences. What ever happened to the concept of becoming a better person? Of growing not just because the immediate opportunity was there, but because you knew it would lead you to becoming more valuable in the world period, in all angles?

  7. Go Volunteer! Now is a great time to put your time and energy into causes that you support.
    Hands Volunteer
We need hands! All shapes, sizes and colors!

  8. Have you cleaned up your room yet? Have a clean car? What about the laundry. Clean your house, clean your life!
Yeah um.. The maid just quit.

  9. Spend time with people. Spend time with your immediate family and enjoy the times together. Spend time with friends and exchange thoughts and ideas. Go meet people from all backgrounds and try to gain as much wisdom as you can.
    A Family of Owls
    Whoooo is this family?

  10. Put your anger to action. Build a community organization. Start working on the formulation of that product you’ve been thinking about.Political change requires action!

What is the premise to take away from this? Take care of your own backyard and it will make you stronger. You’ll find answers, you’ll find connections, you’ll find a way to solve your problems and the rest of our problems rationally.

Mucus, Chinese Medicine, Your Health

Picture of the word "Mucus"

Share This:

Mucus/Phlegm is classified a pathogen called “Dampness” in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It is shown in the pulse as what is called a “slippery” pulse, similar feeling to a rolling pearl. Mucus is a “normal, slippery and stringy fluid substance produced by many lining tissues in the body.”[1] In is created as a response for instance to allergens, outside and inside pathogenic influences, the common cold. It is called phlegm when in the lungs. [2]

From a TCM perspective lungs are the receptacle of phlegm but not the root cause. We expel it from the body in various methods.

Symptoms of Dampness in TCM include masses, lethargy, indigestion, cough, dizziness, headache, as well as other health issues.

What helps: From a TCM perspective, you can drain, sweat, and excrete Dampness in many ways. Typically it is recommended to avoid dairy, sugar and sweets, greasy foods, or extremely cold foods. Weather can affect Dampness in the body such as Winter or during the hot muggy late summer.

Foods such as warm soups can help to eliminate “Dampness” and herbs such as ginger.

Walking and sweating can help with the “dampness”.

So next time you your acupuncturist may mention “Damnpness ” pertaining to mucus and phlegm you’ll have at least some background knowledge to help you learn more.

This article is not intended to diagnose. Please consult a Licensed healthcare provider for any medical related conditions.

Growing Insights As We Move Forward to a New Year

Share This:

So we are coming up to 2017, huh? I don’t know what inspired me to write, probably all the amazing thoughts that accelerate through my head daily, but this year has been a crazy one! Are you up or down? Who won, who lost? Is next year going to go bad or be great?

I must admit I’ve tried to keep under the radar with all the political and emotional commotion in society, but rather than avoiding the problem and doing nothing, which is impossible because you as the observer are a participant in every aspect of life, I find myself developing my core philosophies and boundaries of what I stand for and how I would like to exemplify the characteristics of a smart, confident, loving, aware, hardworking conscious human being. I am not a member of any major religious organization but respect all faiths. I learn from every part of nature that I can and use the knowledge to benefit all those around me.

On this website, reading experience, place of knowledge, growth, compassion, wisdom, empathy, and enlightenment, it will be a place for relax discussion, insight, and connecting with like minds.

Peace of Mind. Feeling relaxed. Feeling confident. Greeting others with a smile that says have a great. Equality.

These are all qualities we can achieve, and if you don’t get it right on the first time don’t worry, just keep practicing. I am. Far from perfect.

Being fiscally responsible. Learning how to save and grow. Feeling confident about your security. Teaching others the same.

Stopping the blame game. Knowing that good things are developing for the enhancement of civilization. There have always been individuals who help to provide humanity with better ways of living and enjoying the earth. Thank you.

Past, Present, and Future: Interview with Jeroen De Wit, Quantum Healer

Quantum healer in Los angeles

Share This:

Quantum Healing Reiki MeditationI had the privilege to sit down and speak with a friend of mine Jeroen De Wit (Pronounced “Ya – Roon”) who is a practitioner of QHHT, or Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique, and Reiki, a Japanese technique to promote healing and unblock energy in the body. During our meeting we had a chance to discuss Jeroen’s background as well as experience in the field. Jeroen has a master degree of spirituality and psychology from the University of Santa Monica and works with individuals to help transform their life and improve in many different aspects. Jeroen is very dedicated to his art and giving the best.

Carlo: Hi Jeroen can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

Jeroen: Originally I’m from the Netherlands. As a kid I’ve always had a sense for the magical, the unseen. A book from The Monroe institute about out-of-body experiences sparked my fire and resonated with my thoughts about physical reality. Born in the early seventies, I was always looking at how to improve the world. There were immature people running the show and always wanted to make a difference.

Carlo: What about any important life changing experiences?

Jeroen: In 2006 things changed when I met and trained under Dolores Cannon. She was a big inspiration into my development and personal empowerment.

Carlo: Can you tell us about some of your successes with your clients as a practitioner?

Jeroen: Yes. I’ve worked with women with fertility issues. In some cases where there was no period. Physical ailments, benign tumors, low back pain. Some people feel like their life becomes unstuck. It depends on the person but those with the will to become healthier will.

Carlo: What can you say about lifestyle in the role of healing?

Jeroen: Lifestyle plays an important role in healing. There are no magic pills that we sometimes expect. People need to take care of themselves. I facilitate a connection for folks to their higher self.

Carlo: Interesting, then what are your thoughts on the role of nutrition on the journey to wellness?

Jeroen: Listen to your body. Stay away from GMO’s, go for fresh foods and avoid the processed things. Your body is your vehicle on this planet. If you allow it to shut down, you’ll have less defenses to protect you.

I am a vegan because I believe in not doing any harm. Animals are killed and tortured just to put meat on the table. The sustainability aspect and the resources involved for meat consumption are impractical.

Carlo: So where do you practice?

Jeroen: I practice in Eagle Rock and at a pa around the Silver Lake area as well as do out calls for people who are immobile or can’t travel far, such as hospice care, elder groups, etc.

LA is fertile ground for this type of lifestyle, to know that this is not just “crazy talk”.

image3

Carlo: LA is a great place and the energy here is great. How long do your sessions last generally?

Jeroen: About 4 – 5 hours for a quantum hypnosis healing session. Energy healing takes about an hour. Meditation is an hour to one and a half hours.

Carlo: Any thoughts on what’s going on in the world, politics?

Jeroen: None of the political candidates represent the image above, so I’d rather support grassroots organizations. Because a no vote is a vote for trump I’d vote for Hillary.  The media plays a big role, and the wool has been pulled over our eyes for so long. I support people taking charge of healthy food production.

Carlo: Any projects that you are working on?

Jeroen: I’m working with an organization called healthy is the new skinny, helping women focusing not on just the body but other aspects and goals to achieving health.

Carlo: What message do you have for the world?

Jeroen: Despite all the madness out here there is hope. The harmonics of human consciousness are changing. The old Paradigms are breaking down but a loving new structure is growing. There is so much help out there to support us on the physical plane.

Stretch Tips For Relieving Tension In The Back

Man stretching the low back

Share This:

“Why is my back so tight?” was the question that was asked by the one who did not stretch…

Constant lifting, bending, excessive sitting, or prolong standing?

Over training/over-developing of the erector spinae and other low back muscles?

Sigghhh…

Back muscles tend to become stiff and rigid. Why am I writing this? Because in the clinic I’ve seen, diagnosed, and treated many cases of low back pain with success. I’ve even had a bout of it myself which lasted about a day and a half. Why did the pain come? I wasn’t taking care of myself properly at the time. How did I rid myself of this ailment? Stretching of course… and 7 years pain free.

Ok so I’ll assume you don’t care about the eitology behind the tightness of your back causing you pain and discomfort and just want to find a quick fix to your solution. Alright, keep scrolling.

Glutes, hamstring, quadriceps, and calf stretches.

Hamstring/Calf Stretch

I enjoy this stretch and do it on a daily basis. The start of obtaining high martial art kicks and relief to your low back pain.

  • Keep your back straight when performing this exercise and bend at the waist.
  • Look forward to help keep your posture and maintain balance.
  • Make sure your foot is pointed up to

the sky. This ensures that you are maximizing the stretching of your muscle fibers, especially the gastrocnemius, soleous, fibularis longus and brevis, also known collectively as the calf.

  • Maintain your breathing.

Gluteus Stretch

  • Great stretch for targeting the gluteals.
  • Try to focus the stretch on the glutes.
  • Avoid putting strain on the knee.
  • Keep ankles relaxed.

  • Stand upright and try to prevent leaning forward.
  • Use the ground with a pillow to train with help obtain a full stretch of the quads.
  • Make sure you hold on to an object to maintain your balance. If you’re able to you can also extend one arm out and look straight ahead to maintain balance if you don’t have something to hold you up.

Good posture can save you a lot of pain and discomfort. Stretching and mastering your flexibity can help improve your posture. Got it? Good.

Ohhh wait! How long should I hold each stretch for?

I recommended for beginners 30 seconds each leg (for the quad stretch 20 seconds). This gives enough time for the body to relax and the muscles to obtain a good stretch. 45 seconds each leg (30 seconds for the quad stretch) is an optimal goal to reach towards.

And lastly…

  • Don’t Overstretch. Let your muscles speak to you and let them relax.
  • Don’t hold your breath. Don’t!
  • Don’t hurt yourself.
  • Don’t do any stretches you are not comfortable with. Seek help of a qualified trainer to guide you as needed.

Progress! If you’ve been stretching for two months and haven’t noticed any changes in your flexibility then you need to adjust your routine to become more effective.

Focus! Stretching is like lifting weights. You want to see some results then do the exercise correctly! Many times I have seen people just sit there for 30 seconds and not even move one centimeter forward. Persistance, calmness, and awareness people!

So what was the point of all this? Oh yeah, stretching can be beneficial to your back pain relief. Thee End.

What? You think there’s more?

No. Go out and do it. Now.

No, I can’t stretch for you that’s impossible.

The Power of Rest and Relaxation

A Picture of people resting and relaxaing at a resort

Share This:

I actually learned this life lesson rest from a friend of mine.

An instructor was scheduled to teach classes in the afternoon. This person was asked to come in earlier to teach a class or at least make a presence around the studio. The instructor denied the request. The reason? It’s simple. The instructor needed to rest so that they could give 100% of their energy for the afternoon classes.

Simple concept, wouldn’t you know. However, in this fast paced, keep up with the Jone’s or face social chastising and isolation type society we have today, the idea of slowing down or taking a step back to rest seem unfathomable, especially during the day! But if it is the key to success, then why isn’t it practiced daily?

You Live and Learn

That was the problem I had. I got caught up in the grind and kept spinning my wheels. “Hit the pavement hard, keep going, you’re almost there you can rest then.” That’s the drive hard successful business model, isn’t it? I didn’t understand the concept that you create your best work when you are well rested and happy. Now I do.

You project a positive vibe around people when you are well rested and happy.

Problems seem to work themselves out better (Yes, lack of money problems too.) when you are well rested and happy.

We have convinced ourselfs that the answer is to do more when the answer is to do your best. How can you do your best if you’re overworked and tired. That’s when I got it.

Rest Can Change Your Life

This is how my days used to sound like when I was overworked and under-rested:

“Yeah, it was good. You know, just worked on stuff.”

Now they sound like this:

“Had a few things on my plate but it was great! Let’s see, first I…”

I actually enjoy talking about my days, and I enjoy hearing about partner’s as well. It’s not only being able to enjoy the end of the day, but the entire day.

You don’t have to go to the Bahamas to recharge:

Go to bed earlier and wake up earlier. Enjoy the morning.

Take an hour break at the park.

Take a 45minute to 1 hour nap. If you need more than that maybe you should work on your sleeping patterns at night.

BUT I DON’T HAVE TIME TO REST!

WHO DOES??? MAKE IT A PRIORITY!

Bring back the power of connection. Bring back the power of actually feeling something worthwhile. Bring back the joy you used to have in life.
